Infant Risk Center

The InfantRisk Center (IRC) is a world-wide call center presently in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Amarillo. The InfantRisk Center is used by physicians, nurses, lactation consultants, and mothers in every part of the world. Virtually all calls are about multiple drugs, averaging 3-4 individual drugs. We do our best to help moms, lactation consultants, and doctors evaluate the risk to the infant from exposure to multiple drugs, and keep the mom breastfeeding.

PSI National - When Breastfeeding & Bodyfeeding Ends Before You Are Ready

This is a free and virtual support group for anyone who stopped breastfeeding or bodyfeeding earlier than intended. The group takes place the 3rd Wednesday of the Month 11 AM MST. It is also for those with severe breastfeeding difficulties that resulted in unmet breastfeeding or bodyfeeding expectations. Participants can be from three weeks postpartum up to one year.

The inability to reach breastfeeding and bodyfeeding goals can be associated with difficult emotions and negative mental health outcomes. The purpose of the group is to provide a safe and supportive environment to share experiences and process difficult feelings. This group is not for lactation support or advice. These groups are led by PSI-trained support group leaders who have lived and/or professional experience in navigating early breastfeeding and bodyfeeding ending/cessation during the postpartum period. This group is not for anyone who chose not to breastfeed or those wanting lactation support or advice.
