National Psychiatric Consultation Line

This program is a service provided at no cost for medical professionals who are prescribers and have questions about mental health care related to pregnant and postpartum patients and pre-conception planning.  This consultation service is available for medical prescribers only. The Perinatal Psychiatric Consultation Program is staffed by experts in the field of psychiatry who are members of PSI and specialists in the treatment of perinatal mental health disorders. The service is free and available by appointment.

MGH Center for Women’s Mental Health Virtual Rounds

These Virtual Rounds are held from 12-1 PM MST on Wednesdays. The panelists include Dr. Lee S. Cohen, Dr. Marlene Freeman, alternating faculty from the CWMH, and colleagues across the country. Attendees have ranged from specialists in reproductive psychiatry to clinical social workers to researchers and to trainees. They field questions and clinical cases, and share resources to guide decision-making and patient care.

MotherToBaby is a service of the non-profit Organization of Teratology Information Specialists, the professional scientific society that is comprised of experts in the field of birth defects prevention. They have patient-friendly fact sheets in English and Spanish on many medications, maternal health conditions, infections, vaccines, and other common exposures. For the questions that aren’t addressed by fact sheets, they have experts that are just a phone call – text – email – chat away, offered at no cost to you or your patient.

InfantRisk Center

These This is a world-wide call center located in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Cneter School of Medicine in Amarillo. They are a globally recognized resource dedicated to supporting healthcare professionals and mothers worldwide. They provide up-to-date knowledge on the safety of various medications for all nursing mothers.
